What a local move covers
A standard local job runs on a two-person crew at $129 per hour, with a minimum of two hours. The truck, blankets, dollies, and straps are included in that rate. We pad-wrap furniture, take apart and rebuild beds and tables, and lay floor runners so nothing gets tracked through the house. If your place is a tighter fit, say a third-floor unit near the boardwalk, we add a mover rather than drag the clock.
How move day runs, hour by hour
The crew confirms the start window the night before. We arrive inside it, walk both ends with you, and protect doorways and floors first. The first stretch is wrapping and loading the heavy items; the middle of the day is boxes and the awkward odds and ends; the last stretch is the drive, the unload by room, and reassembly. We finish with a walkthrough and you sign off on the hours. For a flat-rate read instead of hourly, a studio or one-bed starts around $369, a two-bed near $579, a three-bed near $869, and a four-bed and up near $1,269. A $99 deposit holds your date.
What we do not include
Hourly local jobs do not include boxes or packing materials unless you add them, and we do not haul off trash or old furniture. We also will not move propane tanks, paint, or other hazardous items. If you want everything boxed for you, that is our full packing service, quoted separately.

Q: Is there really a minimum of two hours?
A: Yes. Sending a crew and truck out has a fixed cost, so the smallest local job we bill is two hours. If your move runs short, you are charged for the two hours and not a minute more padded on top.
Q: Can you handle a third-floor unit at the beach with no elevator?
A: We do it constantly. Stairs and beach-block walkups slow the load, so for those we usually quote a three-mover crew or a flat rate so the price is set up front. Tell us the floor and the stair situation when you call and we will size the crew correctly.
Q: Do you charge for drive time across town?
A: Local travel inside the Cape Fear area is built into the hourly rate, not billed as a separate trip fee. The clock covers the work at both ends and the short hop between them, which keeps the bill simple.
